The Dana Point Turkey Trot, in its 41st year, continues to support local charities by giving proceeds of from the race to local non-profits.  Since it’s conception, The Dana Point Turkey Trot has raised over half a million dollars to local non-profits.

This year, the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce has devoted this year’s proceeds to the following worthy causes:

Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group

The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group provides support and outreach for the benefit of our Wounded, Families of our Fallen, and active duty Marines, Sailors and Families of the 5th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton and Wounded Warrior Battalion West. In accordance with this trust, we strive to fill in the gaps of what our Marine Corps provides and keep the morale high of our Brave Defenders and their loved ones. As an entirely volunteer “Boots on the Ground” organization, the support group has zero salaries and every penny donated goes entirely to those they serve.

Pet Project Foundation

For almost 30 years, Pet Project Foundation (PPF) and the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter have been united in a unique partnership to provide pro-humane care to the lost and abandoned animals of our two cities. With PPF providing significant financial support, as well as donating over 25,000 hours of volunteer time each year, the shelter is able to ensure that every animal in its care will have a safe refuge until a permanent, loving home can be found – no matter how long that takes.
