The Dana Point Turkey Trot, in its 37th year, continues to support local charities by giving proceeds of from the race to local non-profits.  Since it’s conception, The Dana Point Turkey Trot has raised over half a million dollars to local non-profits.

This year, the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce has devoted this year’s proceeds to the following worthy causes:

Dana Point Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9934

VFW Post and Auxiliary 9934 offer many services to the community and engage in various programs which are sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Department of California and their Ladies Auxiliaries. These services and programs include:

Community Service, Veteran Service, Youth Development, Citizen Education, Military Services & Flag Information.

VFW Post 9934 is the only Post  in the Nation that has been awarded ALL AMERICAN POST eight years in a row and they are right here in Dana Point.

Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association

Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association is the non-profit cooperating association of Doheny State Beach, dedicated to the protection of the park’s beaches, facilities, marine refuge and its historical, cultural and social stories.  These challenges are met through DSBIA’s fundraising efforts and active support of the park’s educational, interpretive, conservation and restoration programs.  DSBIA was established in 1982, making it one of the oldest cooperating associations in the California State Parks System.
